The Coalition for the Homeless offers four programs to direct homeless services providers and the community at-large. Research: The Coalition serves as the repository of data and knowledge about homelessness, services, and related issues. Project Management: The Coalition drives collaboration, navigates multiple complex funding streams, and convenes multiple systems to implement solutions to homelessness. System Capacity Building: The Coalition serves as the catalyst to raise the organizational and knowledge level and skills of all partners. Public Education: The Coalition for the Homeless serves as the voice of and for people experiencing homelessness in our community.

The Coalition for the Homeless is the nation’s oldest advocacy and direct service organization helping homeless men, women and children. We believe that affordable housing, sufficient food and the chance to work for a living wage are fundamental rights in a civilized society. Since our inception in 1981, the Coalition has worked through litigation, public education and direct services to ensure that these goals are realized. Affordable housing can be very challenging to find in a City as expensive as New York. This challenge was made even more difficult for homeless New Yorkers during the last mayoral administration due to changes made in priority for public housing and the elimination of other housing subsidies. The Coalition continues to advocate for prioritizing homeless New Yorkers for public housing and for increased housing options to address this crisis. Although housing options are limited at present, there may be a program or resource you qualify for listed below (depending on your individual circumstances) — please also use the links included for more detailed information on each type of assistance.

CLLCTIVLY is a place-based social change ecosystem using an asset-based framework to focus on racial equity, narrative change, and social connectedness. Our mission is to end the fragmentation and duplication of programs, to learn from and about each other, and to be a resource for the Greater Baltimore community that seeks to find, fund and partner with Black social change organizations.
