Urban Geoponics® is a grassroots urban agricultural movement established for the purpose of eliminating #fooddeserts and building better helping a higher quality of life through education and empowerment. At Urban Geoponics® our aim is to create jobs and employ the underemployed, the victims denied adequate food access.

We are a small family owned and operated farm, located on Normandy Blvd on the Westside of Jacksonville.  We are committed to being active members of the Jacksonville community. This means that while our main goal is still farming, we would like the farm to be a green space for the community and a place for learning. We provide seniors in subsidized housing with affordable CSAs along with food demonstrations and tastings. We donate our excess to the Sulzbacher Center and everyone gets to eat fresh!

Our mission is twofold. We strive to educate the public about Africa, increase awareness of the connection between current conditions in Africa and migration, and describe the challenges faced by African immigrants as they are in the process of relocating as well as after resettlement. Uprise RI is a Rhode Island news organization founded by reporter Steve Ahlquist, operated by Steve Ahlquist and Greg Brailsford. We cover issues of social justice, human rights, politics, and climate change. We are donation and advertiser based. We are always looking for writers.
