BLACK P.O.W.E.R. was established as an organization dedicated to and aligned with the demands and mission of the national Movement for Black Lives*. We are a collective of local organizers, activists, and community members who are promoting racial justice and social consciousness by holding our shared community and government accountable. Through our work, we seek to end the systematic oppression of Black people by: -Dismantling the political and policing systems that oppress us; -Investing in the Black community via direct support to Black owned businesses, Black-designated scholarships, and community support networks; -Mobilizing a sustainable system of reparations; -Protecting and advocating for ALL Black people including our siblings who are: disabled, undocumented, migrants, asylum seekers, homeless, working class, poor, women, queer, trans, bisexual, lesbian, gay, and everyone along the gender spectrum. It is our hope that, by joining a global movement and seeking local solutions, we can realize Black Liberation.

Black On Black Therapy, PLLC is an online private practice that provides counseling, support groups, workshops, consultation services and therapeutic tools centered around mental health and wellness.

This org aims to have national impact but is based in Detroit. "Goal: Black Mothers Breastfeeding Association’s goal is to have a national impact on the reduction of racial disparities in breastfeeding success for black families. Mission: BMBFA’s mission is to reduce racial inequities in breastfeeding support for black families. Vision: BMBFA envisions positive cultural sentiments about breastfeeding, multi-generational breastfeeding support and encouragement within black families and neighborhoods. Objectives: BMBFA’s objective is to provide education, valuable resources and ongoing support to black families and public/private agencies that service these families." They also connect Black mothers with doulas through their Community-based Doula Program. Their entire Board of Directors and Staff is made up of Black women.

The Mission: To develop, promote and sponsor trusted culturally-relevant educational forums, trainings and referral services that support the health and well-being of Black people and other vulnerable communities. The Vision: The creation of an equitable, respectful and compassionate society. The development of Black communities in which optimal mental health enables children, youth, adults, and families to strive for and embrace their best life.

Healed Men Heal Men To provide access to mental health treatment, psycho-education, and community resources to men of color.

The Black Mamas Matter Alliance is a national network of Black women-led and Black-led, birth and reproductive justice organizations and multi-disciplinary professionals, working across the full-spectrum of maternal and reproductive health. OUR MISSION The Black Mamas Matter Alliance (BMMA) is a Black women-led cross-sectoral alliance that centers Black mamas and birthing people to advocate, drive research, build power, and shift culture for Black maternal health, rights, and justice. OUR VISION We envision a world where Black mamas have the rights, respect, and resources to thrive before, during, and after pregnancy. OUR GOALS Change Policy: Introduce and advance policy grounded in the human rights framework that addresses Black maternal health inequity and improves Black maternal health outcomes Cultivate Research: Leverage the talent and knowledge that exists in Black communities and cultivate innovative research methods to inform the policy agenda to improve Black maternal health Advance Care for Black Mamas: Explore, introduce, and enhance holistic and comprehensive approaches to Black mamas’ care Shift Culture: Redirect and reframe the conversation on Black maternal health and amplify the voices of Black mamas

Our mission is to eradicate white supremacy and build local power to intervene in violence inflicted on Black communities by the state and vigilantes. By combating and countering acts of violence, creating space for Black imagination and innovation, and centering Black joy, we are winning immediate improvements in our lives. We focus on making the maximum positive effort for our community. Our members and volunteers provide the momentum that helps us affect change.

We demand a restructuring of organizations that promote white supremacy whether known or subconscious. We want every police officer to have more mental health screenings, anti bias and de-escalation training, and for agencies to provide transparency to increase accountability. We demand that legislative change take place to end qualified immunity, and to make it illegal for officers to remove turn off or disable body cams in any way during an interaction with people. the fight for justice for black Lives is fighting for justice for All lives.
