Center on Halsted is the Midwest's most comprehensive community center dedicated to advancing community and securing the health and well-being of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer (LGBTQ) people of Chicagoland. We work hard to provide a safe and welcoming environment with programs and services for the entire community. Our programs range from volleyball, dance performances and cooking classes to rapid HIV testing, group therapy and vocational training. Center on Halsted is a catalyst advocating for racial equity for all LGBTQ individuals, allies, and their intersectional identities. With our partners we fight racism, bias, and hate. We commit to take intentional action, remain humble, defend equitable policy-making, and seek accountability in the collective effort to foster resilient communities.

The Center of Help’s mission is to empower, educate and connect immigrants with resources to promote self-sufficiency and to advocate for the successful integration of the immigrant community into Anne Arundel County and the surrounding areas.

The vision of our center is to hold a prominent state, national and international leadership role in the production and dissemination of cutting-edge research on teaching effectiveness for African American students by advancing the educational and social welfare of Black students, families and communities and making research accessible to a wide variety of constituents.

The mission of CRS is to promote the wellness, self-sufficiency, and successful community integration of resettled refugees and their families. Legally resettled refugee families are extremely vulnerable and underserved. They fled their homes due to religious and ethnic persecution. CRS focuses on refugees' ongoing unmet needs, recognizing that self-sufficiency and successful community integration is a process rather than a time-limited event. Upon arrival in the U.S., refugees receive 6 months of assistance from refugee resettlement agencies. The Center for Refugee Services was created to offer ongoing support after the end of this initial resettlement period. This support includes: ESL classes, job readiness, health & wellness support, and referrals to community support services.

We are a nonprofit organization based in Providence, R.I. and dedicated to the work of racial justice and racial reconciliation. We offer a wide range of public programs, exhibitions, and workshops about the history and legacies of slavery, the slave trade, and the construction of race and racial identities in New England and the United States.
