The Birthing Project USA mission is to assist local communities in improving their health status by addressing the systemic causes of their lack of well-being. The systemic causes usually include, lack of education, lack of social justice and economic disparities compounded by institutional political and personal barriers. Birthing Projects actively engage community residents in 1) Identifying their needs., 2) Planning, implementing and evaluating services. 3) Working collaboratively with other agencies, organizations and individuals.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metropolitan Detroit (BBBSMD) was formed in 1974 with the merger of five local Big Brother Big Sister organizations from throughout metro Detroit, with a focus on Wayne, Oakland and Macomb counties. We are the largest one-to-one evidence-based mentoring organization in Southeast Michigan serving nearly 1,000 youth annually with site- and community-based mentoring programs. All of our programming is rooted in evidence-based practices, further differentiating BBBSMD from other mentoring programs. Our mentoring model is certified by multiple federal government departments as an “Effective” evidence-based model in realizing positive outcomes for youth. They include an equity statement.

The Bay State Banner is an African American owned news weekly that reports on the political, economic, social and cultural issues that are of interest to African American and English speaking Latinos in Boston and throughout New England. In addition to our weekly newspaper, we have daily updated content on our digital platform, as well as specialty publications Be Healthy and Banner Biz. Be Healthy has won national awards for excellence in health care coverage. Started in 1965 by Melvin B. Miller, a graduate of Harvard College and Columbia Law School, the Banner provides its estimated 120,000 weekly print readers and 300,000 online readers with reports on a mix of local,national, international news and cultural events. The Banner is the newspaper of record for this community and has chronicled the struggles and successes of the last 50 years.

Beyond Toxics is a statewide environmental justice organization advancing policies that ensure meaningful participation and cultivating grassroots leadership from Oregon’s frontline and impacted communities. Established in 2001, we are a multicultural, inter-generational team dedicated to centering community leaders and building out the true diversity of our state’s vibrant Environmental Justice movement.

Newly founded organization in response to the social injustice and systemic oppression of minorities that influenced our society for hundreds of years. Our mission is to eradicate racism, sexism, ageism, ableism, homophobia, transphobia, etc. Building local power to intervene in violence inflicted on minority communities. By combating and countering acts of violence, we will create space for unity within the community.

Kirsten decided to become a Doula on her journey of trying to conceive through PCOS, Miscarriages' and Ectopic pregnancies. It was during that time when she was looking for support to help her through that time that she found about what a doula does and wanted to provide that to other women in the same boat. She wanted to be the helping guiding light for women so they didn't have to go through what she has went through.
