To provide underserved children in North Texas with specialized medical, educational and therapeutic care and holistic support services for families to thrive. Using a person-centered approach, our case management team has been monitoring progress toward family self-sufficiency during this challenging time using a customized plan.

Brooklyn Legal Services Corporation A (Brooklyn A) has been the primary provider of civil legal services throughout North and East Brooklyn for 35 years. Our clients are low-income individuals, families and local groups who otherwise would not have access to representation. We provide community-based services that integrate the culture, values and norms of those communities and maximize our effectiveness via close and mutually supportive relationships with neighborhood organizations that share our commitment to social and economic justice. We are also unique in serving as the legal arm of local initiatives to rebuild and revitalize our communities. This work results in the creation of housing, child care and health care facilities, development of schools, nursing homes, senior citizen centers and jobs.

The mission of South Brooklyn Legal Services is to seek equal justice for low-income people in Brooklyn by providing a broad range of legal advocacy and information. In pursuing this goal, we try to work respectfully with individual clients and client groups to identify and address their legal needs, to help empower poor people to identify and defeat the causes and effects of poverty in their communities, to focus on matters that will have the greatest impact for low-income people, and to work cooperatively with the private bar and with other agencies and organizations serving poor people.

Provides support and services to the borough’s LGBT+ community through original programming and partnerships with existing organizations.

Brooklyn Community Foundation is the first and only public foundation solely dedicated to Brooklyn’s charitable community, working in partnership with generous donors and community leaders to bolster vital nonprofits, strengthen neighborhoods, and increase opportunities for youth. Since our founding in 2009, the Foundation has provided over $40 million in grants to more than 300 nonprofits throughout the borough. -- Through our Community Fund, Donor Advised Fund Program, and strategic initiatives, Brooklyn Community Foundation seeks to mobilize people, capital, and expertise for a fair and just Brooklyn. Our unique approach has three components: first, we listen and engage the community; second, we build on what’s working, funding and supporting successful programs; third, we try new things, and when something works, we invest in its continued success. • Collaborate with local leaders. We partner with local leaders to identify and support proven models and accelerate bold new solutions. • Mobilize capital. We work with donors and manage resources to meet critical charitable goals and build a long-term asset base. • Leverage expertise. We call on a vast network of experts to build on best practices and advance the thinking needed to sustain our work.

Brooklyn Community Bail Fund secures the freedom of New Yorkers who would otherwise be detained pretrial due to their poverty alone. We are committed to challenging the criminalization of race, poverty and immigration status, the practice of putting a price on fundamental rights, and the persistent myth that bail is a necessary element of the justice system.

BANgentrification uses a “twelve-point platform directed at New York City and State government that serves as both our points of unity as well as goals that we are determined to win through grassroots organizing, mass-based political education, policy change and direct action.”

Legal Services NYC was founded in 1968 as part of the War on Poverty. What started as a loose confederation of neighborhood-based legal services programs has grown into the nation's largest civil legal services provider. Our citywide force of over 500 staff helps more than 110,000 low-income New Yorkers annually. For low-income New Yorkers facing a life crisis, legal help is often the most effective tool in resolving it. The need for free legal services is tremendous. Roughly 1.7 million city residents are currently living below the poverty line—a mere $25,000 for a family of four. They are often made more vulnerable by discrimination, immigration status, age, or disabilities. Our work makes tangible improvements in the lives of hundreds of thousands of these New Yorkers in need.

The Broadway Youth Center (BYC), a program of Howard Brown Health, is a haven for LGBTQ youth and young people experiencing homelessness or housing instability. BYC provides basic needs assistance, resource advocacy, mental wellness supports, and education/vocational services. We consider ourselves a one-stop shop and try to meet as many needs as possible for the people that we serve.
