Over 50% of the food produced in the United States is wasted each year. Meanwhile the number of people who experience hunger and food insecurity continues to grow. Food Not Bombs is a worldwide movement that recovers perfectly safe and edible food that would otherwise be thrown out and redistributes it in our communities. For 25 years Hartford Food Not Bombs has shared free public meals every week to protest war, poverty and hunger. We are not a charity. Volunteers come together under the simple concept that food is a right, not a privilege.
