The agency serves more than 35,000 adults and youth in its diverse health and social service delivery system focused around seven major programmatic divisions: primary medical care, behavioral health, research, HIV/STI prevention, youth services, elder services, and community initiatives. Howard Brown serves men, women, trans and gender non-conforming folks, infants, youth, and children through a multi-site operation based in Chicago.

Houston Volunteer Lawyers is the pro bono legal aid arm of the Houston Bar Association. Founded in 1981, we help thousands of people each year with their most pressing legal needs, such as child custody, landlord/tenant, guardianship, and probate. We are here because (unlike the criminal system) you have no right to an attorney if you cannot afford one to save your home or keep custody of your child. We fill this gap in the civil justice system by connecting eligible clients with private attorneys who volunteer their time.

The Center of Wichita is a place to call home for Wichita’s Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, and Allied (LGBTQA) community and a safe space for youth. The Center of Wichita’s current focus is securing resources and educational opportunities for Wichita’s LGBTQA youth. We have a central meeting place for people and organizations interested in LGBTQA awareness, we are currently building an LGBTQA library, and we have literature and contact information for other LGBTQA organizations throughout the city and state. We hope to continually expand to make available many more resources for all of our community.

More than 1.1 million people in the 18 southeast Texas counties served by Houston Food Bank are considered food insecure, meaning they lack consistent access to enough nutritious food to fuel a healthy life. In order to address this issue, the Houston Food Bank distributes food and other essentials to those in need through a network of 1,500 community partners. In addition, we also provide programs and services aimed at helping families achieve long-term stability including nutrition education, job training, health management, and help in securing state-funded assistance.
