History of The Chas Foundation Established in 2012 in memory of Tucker Corprew’s son, Charles H. Kirkwood (Chas), who suffered from bipolar disorder and ultimately lost his life to suicide. The organization began as a grassroots movement to significantly change the perception of people suffering from mental illness and enhance the quality of life of those individuals. We provide FREE Primary Care, Dental Care, Mental Health Services, Vision Care, and Specialty Care for those who are uninsured and underinsured. HUDA Clinic is a health facility that offers free healthcare services to the public, which means no copays or fees. We provide preventative screenings, health assessments, management for chronic care illnesses, and referrals to specialists as needed. We have expanded from our humble beginnings in the Muslim Community Center in 2004 through the help of dedicated volunteers, partnerships with local organizations and hospitals, and generous donations.

The Charlotte Post Foundation will become the premier link to resources and expertise that help create life-changing educational opportunities for African American youth. The annual Top Senior project recognizes African American high school seniors who are achieving academically as well as involved in extra-curricular activity and community service. Students with a 3.25 grade point average and higher qualify.

We have psychiatrists on staff along with our licensed social workers to provide therapy and treatment for a wide range of mental health concerns. We offer free counseling and treatment to veterans, homeless, uninsured, and the working underinsured. Our Mental Health Services Include: Prescribing psychiatrist on site Adult Counseling Depression, Eating Disorders, and more.

Howard Center offers professional crisis and counseling services to children and adults; supportive services to individuals with autism and developmental disabilities who need help with education, employment, and life maintenance skills; counseling and medical services for those struggling with substance use disorders; and interventions and supports for adults with serious and persistent mental health challenges in Chittenden County, Vermont's most populous county. Today, our staff of 1,600 support workers, clinicians, nurses, teachers, case managers, psychiatrists, and others provide help and support to more than 16,000 people each year in over 60 locations throughout Vermont. We serve children, adults, families, and communities in a range of settings with a broad array of services for mental health, developmental, and substance use needs.
