The Essex County Legal Aid Association (ECLAA) provides free immediate legal advice on civil law matters (focusing largely on landlord/tenant matters, as well as consumer finance matters), preparing pro se legal paperwork so that clients can proceed in court themselves, negotiating with opposing counsel when possible, and (if we are certain that a tenant client is incapable of represent their interests pro se) representing that client in Landlord-Tenant court and/or hearings. If we cannot help a client, we will make referrals to other nonprofit organizations and government agencies who we believe can further assist these clients.

IMPACCT Brooklyn, also known as the Pratt Area Community Council, is a community development corporation committed to helping residents build and sustain flourishing communities in Fort Greene, Clinton Hill, Bedford Stuyvesant, Crown Heights, and Prospect Heights. PACC fights to preserve project-based Section 8 Housing, works to prevent foreclosures, organizes against lead paint hazards, educates residents through workshops and counseling, provides loans and grants to homebuyers and small businesses, and creates business retention and revitalization activities.

The Esperanza Center is a comprehensive resource center whose mission is to welcome immigrants by offering hope, compassionate services, and the power to improve their lives. Since 1963, immigrants from all over the world have trusted the Esperanza Center to help them navigate life in a new country. The Immigration Advocates Network (IAN), a program of Pro Bono Net, is dedicated to expanding access to immigration legal resources and information through collaboration and technology. IAN was created in 2007 by leading immigrants' rights organizations, to increase access to justice for low-income immigrants and strengthen the capacity of organizations serving them. We create our own tools, build platforms for others, and work with partners to harness the power of technology and collective action to better support immigrants and their advocates.
