The South Side Community Art Center is the nation’s oldest African American art center in the United States and is a Chicago Historic Landmark. While taking pride in our rich past, we today build on our legacy and innovatively serve as an artist- and community-centered resource with programs, exhibitions and events that inspire.

GCR offers safe refuge and support services to the residents of Mecklenburg County in the state of North Carolina . We are open to working with some local government/agencies to provide immediate relief, support services, emergency and/or overflow shelter.

SLCM provides emergency assistance for our neighbors facing crisis and work with our partners and neighbors to better connect and advocate. SLCM serves our neighbors (40208, 40209, 40214, and 40215) in their greatest time of need to prevent their crisis from turning into catastrophe. Our community extends to 72,407 people and we struggle with the second highest poverty rates in Louisville, but we believe that through collaboration and kinship, we can be that compassionate home base to everyone.

Their mission is to feed the hungry in Baton Rouge and the surrounding parishes by providing food and educational outreach through faith-based and other community partners.

For 26 years the South Florida Times continues to be the most influential weekly newspaper in South Florida serving the African American, Caribbean and Haitian communities.

The South Florida Black Journalists Association is a chapter of the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) serving the diaspora in Broward, Miami-Dade and Palm Beach counties. While our region is known worldwide for its fun and sun, the chapter has, for three decades, united a community of journalists who share the goals of media diversity, fairness and professional excellence.

Our mission is to create a world where all girls grow up to be healthy women. We believe in the adage, “if you don’t have your health you don’t have anything”. We recognize that obesity and physical inactivity are major health crises that lower individuals’ quality of life and reduce their human development. This is particularly true for impoverished women and girls of all races who are at the highest risk for poor physical, mental and sexual health. Our work addresses behavioral, social and environmental determinants of health. We are committed to providing the resources and opportunities for women and girls to make health a priority so they can affect changes in themselves, their family and community.
