The Green Soul concept was born in 2011 out of our desire to offer a healthy alternative to traditional Soul Food. Delicious as it may be, Soul Food is not known for its health benefits! Owning several restaurants that serve authentic Southern favorites, we wanted to stay close to our roots while offering our customers food that is good for them, and food they could feel good about eating.

Mission statement: "Springboard To Opportunities connects families living in affordable housing with resources and programs that help them advance themselves in school, work and life. We do this by working directly with families, as well as by establishing strategic partnerships with other organizations that help residents achieve their goals."

Green Bronx Machine builds healthy, equitable, and resilient communities through inspired education, local food systems, and 21st Century workforce development. Dedicated to cultivating minds and harvesting hope, our school-based model using urban agriculture aligned to key school performance indicators grows healthy students and healthy schools to transform communities that are fragmented and marginalized into neighborhoods that are inclusive and thriving. We believe that healthy students help drive healthy schools, and that healthy schools are at the heart of healthy communities. We envision growing healthy communities where those who are “apart from” will become “part of” new solutions that benefit 100% of society; a world where people do not have to leave their community to live, learn and earn in a better one. Greater Steps Scholars provides post-secondary scholarships, mentoring and career prep workshops & activities to equip students living in low-income housing with the tools they need to achieve success and economic mobility. We support an average of 100 students each year.

SPARK defines Reproductive Justice as a social justice movement rooted in the belief that individuals and communities should have the resources and power to make sustainable and liberatory decisions about their bodies, genders, sexualities, and lives. Reproductive Justice is pro-sex, sexuality, gender, queer bodies, access to abortion and contraception, birth rights and chosen families, and so much more! Reproductive justice is struggling towards liberation within and with community. To working towards a world free of reproductive violence and oppression – systems of oppressions, institutional control, eugenics, medicalization, and violence that works to uphold and reinforce dangerous and negative policies, practices, and culture. For us, reproductive justice is working in the South, which has a powerful history of resistance and organizing for power and change and a legacy of slavery and oppression that, in many ways, has set the context of how we understand bodies, politics, labor, and reproduction in the US. The South is ground zero for dangerous and restrictive legislative policies, but is also home to a number of fierce communities that intersect gender justice and LGBTQI sexual and health rights with racial justice and immigrants’ rights. We know what it means to build with community; centralizing the voices of the most marginalized and underrepresented.
