Manna Meal Inc. (MMI) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation that operates a soup kitchen located inside St. John’s Episcopal Church in the heart of downtown Charleston, WV. MMI relies solely on contributions from our community and grants that we write. We serve two meals a day (breakfast & lunch), 365 days a year, to individuals and families that include the homeless, mentally challenged, under-employed workers as well as people who simply cannot make ends meet. “No questions asked,” is a cornerstone to our mission. We believe strongly that we do not need to ask any questions about your income, faith, or housing situation to feed you. Our mission is “so the hungry can eat”.

We fight poverty and seek economic, social and racial justice for low-income borough residents through the provision of free legal representation, systemic advocacy and community education. Make the Road Connecticut is an organization that builds membership with low-income and working class Latinos living in Bridgeport and Hartford. It has become a powerful voice on immigrant rights, worker rights, education equity, LGBTQ justice, women's rights and more.

Make the Road New York organizes and builds the leadership of community members who are eager to fight for housing equality and environmental justice. Members meet weekly to discuss troubles with landlords and their rights as tenants, and to organize for safe, affordable housing for our families. Our work spurred the creation of the Alternative Enforcement Program, which ensures repairs in 250 of New York City’s worst buildings every year.

Our mission is to support and empower transgender people to create a world where they can thrive. MaineTransNet is a community based organization led by transgender people for transgender people. We provide peer-to-peer support groups, social and community events, advocacy for the transgender community across Maine, and transgender cultural competency training for medical, mental health, and social service providers. We engage transgender people and our allies across Maine in the practice of community building and organizing for mutual liberation. Our work is rooted in a deep desire to care for one another, which leads us to focus our efforts on building systems of mutual support on a bedrock of accessibility, inclusivity, and hospitality. We view structures of power and oppression as interlocking, and believe in finding our leadership from among those people who experience this as a reality in their daily lives.
