Cy Fair Helping Hands
State
Texas
Category
Housing
Description (click to expand)
Cy-Fair Helping Hands, (CFHH), a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, was founded to help the homeless of Cy-Fair become self-sufficient. This ministry had its humble beginnings in the heart of one woman and a huge pot of soup, served from the back of a pick-up truck. For many years, Cy-Fair residents, Jean and John Dreyer, made it their mission to minister to those living on the streets of northwest Houston. They forged relationships with the homeless, collecting and storing food, clothes and supplies for them in their garage. The couple ultimately sold their lucrative antique business to fund Cy-Fair Helping Hands. Since its inception in 2010, the fledgling organization has grown to include office space and a Community Food Pantry, enabling CFHH to serve not only the homeless on the street, and homeless teens in CFISD, but the hungry of Cy-Fair.

The Connecticut Juvenile Justice Alliance is a Youth/Adult Partnership working to end the criminalization of youth. Made up of Justice Staff, Justice Advisors and Steering Committee members, we work to keep children and youth out of the justice system by disrupting and dismantling the pathways that funnel children and youth into courts and prisons. We also work to make sure youth who are detained, incarcerated, and involved in the courts and legal systems receive safe, fair, and dignified treatment. The Alliance uses organizing, advocacy, and policy tools to protect the rights, futures, and well-being of potentially, currently, and formerly incarcerated youth.

Description (click to expand)
Cradle Cincinnati was founded in 2012 as a collaborative effort between parents, caregivers, healthcare professionals, and community members with a committment to reduce infant mortality in our community. In Hamilton County, 8.98 babies died for every 1,000 who were born from 2013-2017. That’s a dramatic improvement over where we have been in the past, but still puts us among the worst 10% in the country. While our rate is steadily improving, our work is far from complete.
Covid Bail Out NYC

Legal Aid/Bail Funds
Description (click to expand)
COVID Bailout NYC stands in fierce solidarity with protestors fighting for Black lives and against police murder and state violence. We bail out our Black & brown siblings in NYC jails, prioritizing those who are medically vulnerable. We cannot bail out protestors. But the same racist system that murders black and brown folks in the streets locks them up in Rikers and leaves them to die from COVID-19. Together, we can free them now! -- The COVID-19 virus is spreading faster in NYC jails than anywhere in the world. Thousands of people are being held pretrial at Rikers simply because they can't afford to pay bail. Among them are hundreds of medically vulnerable individuals. COVID Bail Out NYC is an all volunteer, emergency grassroots initiative that has teamed up with Black Alliance for Just Immigration to get people safe and free. Please give generously
